About the Author

Hi!
My name is Aaron Campbell (the one in the hat) and I am first and foremost a born-again child of God. I believe that my faith should permeate every part of my life, including my writing. I am also a married man, and my wife Becca (the pretty one) is not only the love of my life, but also my biggest inspiration and supporter. I am a pastor’s kid, and the 3rd of 4 children in my family. I work in finance, but I also have a passion for story-telling and coaching. I love coffee, all things sports, hiking, and binging TV shows.

What is The Contemplation Station?

I am a natural sprinter and achiever, which means I set a goal and try to get there as fast as I can, oftentimes without taking time to appreciate the blessings, stories, and important questions in life. I have loved turtles since I was very young, and the fable of the tortoise and the hare is one that I know I need to pay more attention to. For those who are unfamiliar, the fable begins with a hare challenging a tortoise to a race. Anyone with common sense would think that a hare would destroy a tortoise in a race, and sure enough, the hare starts strong and takes a big lead. However, the race was a long one, and the hare tired quickly. The tortoise, moving slowly but surely, eventually overtook the exhausted hare and won the race! The phrase “Slow and steady wins the race” is probably most reader’s biggest takeaways from the fable, but I wonder what the hare missed out on because he was sprinting through the race. How many memories, friendships, and experiences did the tortoise make along the way that the hare did not? Obviously I am reading into the fable a little bit, but I am more like the hare than I care to admit. The Contemplation Station is my way of slowing down, processing, and sharing the many stories, challenges, questions, and lessons that I have learned along the race of life.
